Why we're building Halo

We don't believe you should wait for a fall to start paying attention.

A fall can change more than your health. It can change how confidently you live.

A note from our founder

Both of my grandmothers experienced serious falls. One became paralyzed. The other had difficulty walking for the rest of her life.

While conducting research at my university and speaking with older adults, I kept hearing the same story. Even a fall without a serious injury could leave a lasting fear. People moved less, became more cautious, and stopped doing things they once enjoyed. Over time, that loss of confidence chipped away at their independence.

The fall itself is only half the damage. The fear that follows is the other half.

Emergency buttons and fall-detection features can help after a fall. Our team is building Halo to add something different: a clearer view of changes in balance, movement, and vital signs over time, before an emergency.

Our goal is simple. Help you notice changes sooner, ask better questions, and take a more active role in your health, so you can keep living the way you want to live.

What we believe

Growing older should not mean living smaller.

Before, not after

The best emergency is the one that never happens. We work weeks ahead, not seconds behind.

Plain words

No scores, no jargon, no alarms. If your neighbor wouldn't understand it, we don't ship it.

Your life, your data

Private by default, shared only when you choose. Never sold, never used for ads.

Be one of the first hundred.

Halo is still being built. Leave your email and we will write about once a month as it gets closer to being ready.
